At Nooksack Christian Fellowship, our faith is rooted in the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. These core beliefs shape our teaching, worship, discipleship, and daily lives as followers of Christ.

We believe truth matters because God’s Word transforms lives.

Summary of Faith:

The Bible is God’s perfect and final Word.
God the Father rules with wisdom and love, adopting believers as His children.
Jesus Christ is the only Savior and Lord, crucified and risen for our redemption.
The Holy Spirit indwells, sanctifies, and empowers all believers.
The Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — is eternal and sovereign.
Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
Humanity is fallen and in need of grace.
God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and God’s kingdom will endure forever.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, given by the Holy Spirit through human authors. As originally written, they are entirely true, without error in all that they affirm, and fully authoritative in every matter of faith and life. The Bible is the complete and final revelation of God’s will for the salvation of humanity and stands as the sole, sufficient, and unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.

We believe in God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, who reigns with perfect holiness, wisdom, and love. He is the sovereign Lord over all creation, sustaining and governing all things according to His divine will. The Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to redeem sinners and to reveal His heart of mercy and grace. He adopts as His children all who come to Him through faith in His Son and delights to hear and answer the prayers of His people. The Father works all things together for the good of those who love Him and for the ultimate glory of His name.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten and eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who entered the world through a miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless and perfectly obedient life, revealing the Father’s will and glory. Through His substitutionary death on the cross, He bore our sins and secured our redemption. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. We look expectantly for His personal, visible, and imminent return in power and glory.

We believe in the person and present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and who regenerates, indwells, seals, and empowers every believer at the moment of salvation. He provides spiritual gifts for service, produces godly fruit in the believer’s life, and enables a holy and effective walk with God. The Holy Spirit leads, teaches, and fills those who yield to His guidance, equipping them for ministry and witness in the world. The Holy Spirit actively intercedes for us to the Father even when we don't know what to pray for.

We believe in one living and personal God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, who eternally exists in three distinct yet co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence, equal in power and glory, and perfectly united in purpose and being. God alone is worthy of all worship, love, and obedience.

We believe that we are saved by God's Grace, through faith in Jesus Christ and that this is accomplished through the life, death, and resurrection of His only Son, Jesus Christ. By His substitutionary death on the cross, He bore the penalty for our sins and satisfied divine justice. All who, by faith, repent and trust in Jesus Christ alone are forgiven, justified, and declared righteous before God on the basis of His finished work. Through this saving faith, believers are reconciled to God and granted eternal life as His children.

We believe that God created all people (male & female) in His own image to know, love, and glorify Him, and to have fellowship with Him forever. However, through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the human race, and all people are now born with a sinful nature, separated from God and subject to physical and spiritual death. As a result, every person is a sinner by nature and by choice, utterly unable to restore fellowship with God apart from His grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that God the Father created the heavens and the earth and all living things by His sovereign power and according to His divine will through God the Son. All creation exists to declare His glory and operates under His sustaining authority. Humanity was uniquely created in the image of God, distinct from the rest of creation, with purpose, moral responsibility, and the capacity for fellowship with Him. We affirm that all things were made good, that creation reflects God’s wisdom and order, and that He continues to uphold and govern it according to His perfect plan.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people — the saved and the lost. Those who have trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation will be raised to everlasting life, joy, and fellowship with God, while those who have rejected His grace and forgiveness will be raised to face everlasting judgment and separation from Him. God will bring all things to their perfect and just conclusion according to His sovereign plan, establishing a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells forever.
